Diambra Mariani was born in 1982 in Verona, where she lives. She graduated in law in 2008, in Milan.
Valentina Merzi was born in Verona in 1983. She graduated in Philisophy in 2008, in Verona. Now she lives in Venice.
In 2009 they attended the Master in Photography and digital Imaging at IED, Venice, where they met each other.
From this successful experience they created "inheritance", a sort of receptacle of photographic and artistic works. Together, in association with different Onlus, they took part of social awareness projects (using photographic language) with teenagers and people in external penal custody. At the beginning they concentrated on social issues, mixing metaphorical images and reportage. Recently they decided to focus on feminine icons developing a long term project reinterpreting tragical figures in a contemporary view. In 2010 their work "CATTI-VITA" was selected for the italian exhibition of contemporary photography Confini08 and their images were in Rome, Milan, Genoa, Turin, Florence, Palermo and Trieste. In the same year the project "Contemporary Ophelia" was chosen for the 10th edition of Marghera Fotografia (Venice) and for the Lens Based Art Show (Turin).
