Lisa Castellani was born in 1979, she lives and works in Vicenza, Italy.
From 1999 to 2004 she studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice. For her final degree, of 110/110-plus lode, she developed an artistic and theorical research about the “Fenomenology of contemporary urban-scape”. Since 2000 she takes part in international exhibitions, workshop, residences and festivals. Her interests go through public and comunity-based art, new media and all forms of interactions between visual art and other comunication languages. She often works on site specific projects. In 2003 she was present at the 50th Biennale of Venice with the project “Riserva Artificiale”; in 2005 she was invited from Pistoletto Foundation of Biella to take part in: “Art – City – Politics: new perspectives and visions for Venice”, inside the 51st Biennale of Venice. During this collaboration she developed the project “A record for Pellestrina”, ended in summer 2007. In 2006 she was invited from Love Difference artistic movement for the Mediterranean area, to get involved in: “Da cose nasce cosa…su cosa cooperare?”, participatory interdisciplinary workshop in Gorizia – Nova Gorica (Italy and Slovenja). Since 2007 her works are shown in Loft Arte gallery by Luciano Lora. In 2008 she was selected from Careof – ViaFarini of Milan to work and exhibit with the artist Kim Jones in “War drawings”. In 2009 she showed her projects “Relocate” and “Waves of me” in Germany and Slovenja’s contemporary festivals. The Ljubljana Festival invited Lisa to the 2010 International Fine Arts Colony as one of the four eminent artists from abroad. For the autumn 2010 she’s preparing two solo exhibitions for the Italian Festival of Philosophy and for the Contemporary Art Festival of Treviso (Italy).
