From 06th to 11th October 2011, in the Church of San Giovanni in Valle, Verona

Kn Studio is pleased to announce a collateral event to the ARTVERONA art fair: the installation by the artist Angela Glajcar.

After the important installations crea- ted in public and private venues over the past year by the brilliant German artist Angela Glajcar – St. Peter Kircke Station in Cologne; the cultural department of the city of Frankfurt; the museums of Ludwigshafen, Hof, and Berlin;the Papiermuseum in Steyrermuhl; the Wichtendahl Galerie in Berlin; and the Fondazione Amici di Castelbasso – Kn Studio will be presenting a spectacular large-scale installation specifically realized for the church of San Giovanni in Valle, Verona.

The installation will be scattered around the inside of the church; in front of the altar it will consist of an assemblage of innumerable sheets of paper placed parallel to each other, though without touching; this will create a horizontal rhythm extending for some 6 metres in length which will receive and redistribute the light insi- de the church in a kind of spiritual tunnel in which the viewer will immediately be absorbed and transported. “Above all, paper is amazing for its sculptural pre- sence. It reacts to the atmosphere in many ways. Pa- per seduces because of its tactile sensuousness: one wants to touch it, feel it; it also has a strong reaction to the exterior and light. Thanks to the technique of su- perimposition, works on paper are penetrated by light and constantly create new forms”. Angela Glajcar

The installation will be on view to the public for the whole duration of the ArtVerona at regular hours and will be the centre of attention on Saturday 8 October, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., together with a light dinner and a concert in the cloisters of the church. In the church of San Giovanni in Valle from 6 to 10 October 2011 The inauguration of the installation is on Saturday 8 October 2011 from 9 p.m. onwards in the cloisters and church of San Giovanni in Valle; there will also be a light dinner and a concert of music.
